Tech

Distance

2900 m

Elevation

150 m

The start consists of technical rock gardens, rock jumps and gaps plus small drops. After halfway come two big drops and at the end a 7-metre gap jump. No chicken lines – there are no bypasses on the drops. Check the landing lines carefully.

The trail is suitable only for very skilled mountain bikers. Riding it requires precise speed and line control, clearing larger obstacles, riding drops and the ability to hit big drops and jumps.

Mr. Hankey branches off Murica – take the first junction left. From the Mr. Hankey section you can reach the lower parts of Air Flow and Murica.

Familiarise yourself with the trail carefully. If you stop, move off the trail. Do not stand in the landing zones of jumps.

The brainchild of trail builder Reittiukko and Onni – Ylläs's very own Hardline! Mr. Hankey has everything downhill biking is about. The creation features raw rock gardens, steep sections, fast berms, massive drops and airy jumps.

The trail starts at the bus stop located after Murica's upper section. From the very beginning it is clear that this express service is somewhat more intense than usual. The trail kicks off with a rocky section that makes brilliant use of the existing boulder field, with stones laid one by one into their optimal positions to form the trail. The section also features several jumps and a berm that flow together seamlessly.

After a wooden bridge crossing Air Flow, the trail offers very straightforward, fast riding – spiced up with two drops and a final gap jump. The drops are about two and a half metres high with a 5–7 metre jump distance. After the second drop the trail climaxes with a gap jump using natural terrain forms.

This hand-built trail offers the rider plenty of challenges and demands excellent bike and speed control. Do familiarise yourself thoroughly with the trail on foot before riding. Also remember, if you move up the trail do so on the side and don't stop in a blind spot.
