The pride of our ski resort — Ylläs 1 Gondola is Finland's number one mountain lift

The gondola's 2 km journey to the top of Ylläs, 719 m above sea level, takes just seven minutes. On board you'll enjoy stunning views in every season.

The gondola is the easiest and fastest way to enjoy the unique fell views of Ylläs — with or without skis.

Gondola use is included in all lift tickets. You can also ride up to admire the views without skis. With a sightseeing ticket you can travel conveniently in both directions. Once at the top, stunning views and the summit's two restaurants — YlläsKammi and Ravintola Gondol — await you.

The gondola is open daily in summer and winter seasons. It cannot be operated in storm winds or thunderstorms.

A maximum of eight people can fit in one gondola cabin at a time. The gondola is accessible by wheelchair with assistance and with pushchairs. Some gondola cabins are also dog-friendly.

In summer the gondola opens the door to the fell summit for cyclists, hikers, and everyone who loves the views.

The gondola is also open in summer. The summer season runs from around midsummer to the end of September. Ylläs Bike Park's excellent trails start from the fell summit. The journey to the summit of Ylläs is quick and easy on the gondola. A sightseeing ride is well worth it in summer too — the views are stunning in every season. Restaurant YlläsKammi serves customers on all gondola opening days year-round.

Ylläs Bike Park is open daily 11am–6pm during the summer season. The season starts on 13 June and runs through 27 September 2026. Follow our website and social channels for updates on exceptions and current information.

For brand-new riders we recommend starting with the trails from the Vekkuli carpet lift. When your bike feels familiar and you feel confident, you can move on to trails reached by the chairlift, such as Ylläs Flow. Flow is wide and beginner-friendly. Riding at an easy pace, you can manage with everyday cycling skills and a bit of an adventurous spirit.

The most common reasons for closing the Gondola are strong wind, storms, or thunderstorms. The Gondola is never closed for cost-saving reasons. The crew operating the Gondola are on duty all day, even if the lift does not run for a single minute.

Courses last two to three hours depending on the course. For example, the Get to know the bike park course lasts two hours, and the Ylläs Pro X course three hours.
