Mountain biking is an exhilarating sport and on busy days there can be many riders of different skill levels sharing the same trails. Common guidelines keep everyone safe — just like the rules of the road. Choose your trail and speed according to your ability, give other riders plenty of clearance, and stop only where you are easily visible.
All riders must wear a helmet. Additional protective gear — gloves, knee pads, a back protector and eye protection — is strongly recommended, especially on more challenging trails. Staff have the right and obligation to remove lift tickets from anyone who does not comply with the rules or endangers others.

Ylläs Bike Patrol monitors and guides
Ylläs Bike Patrol is your dedicated trail safety team on the mountain. In their distinctive outfits, they are a familiar and reassuring presence on the trails. They check trail conditions every day, maintain signage, barriers and impact protection — everything that ensures the safest possible conditions for every rider on every day.
Bike Patrol members are happy to guide and advise anyone who needs help, and they will step in if they see behaviour that puts other riders at risk. If you are unsure about a trail or a feature, do not hesitate to ask the Patrol — they know the mountain.
Trail First Aid
Ylläs Bike Park covers a wide area, so being prepared matters. First aid on the trails is handled by trained professionals. If an accident happens, report it to staff immediately and do not leave an injured rider alone. Every rider has an obligation to help in case of an accident.
In all serious emergencies, call the general emergency number.
