Kid discovering the magic carpet lift on the Pyörä-Werneri 1 course at Ylläs

Pyörä-Werneri 1

The ideal first experience of the bike park for children under 10. Guided riding on kids' trails in a safe, encouraging environment.

On the Pyörä-Werneri 1 course, under-10s new to bike park riding get introduced to riding on Ylläs Bike Park's fun kids' trails with guided instruction.

We'll get familiar with bike control on flat ground and the practice area. You'll also get to know the centre from the saddle. We'll explore the bike park's easy kids' trails and magic carpet lift use, plus safe ways to ride on the trails.

The goal is to give you the skills for independent supervised bike park riding on the magic carpet trails. Minimum two participants.

Ylläs Bike Park is open daily 11am–6pm during the summer season. The season starts on 13 June and runs through 27 September 2026. Follow our website and social channels for updates on exceptions and current information.

For brand-new riders we recommend starting with the trails from the Vekkuli carpet lift. When your bike feels familiar and you feel confident, you can move on to trails reached by the chairlift, such as Ylläs Flow. Flow is wide and beginner-friendly. Riding at an easy pace, you can manage with everyday cycling skills and a bit of an adventurous spirit.

The most common reasons for closing the Gondola are strong wind, storms, or thunderstorms. The Gondola is never closed for cost-saving reasons. The crew operating the Gondola are on duty all day, even if the lift does not run for a single minute.

Courses last two to three hours depending on the course. For example, the Get to know the bike park course lasts two hours, and the Ylläs Pro X course three hours.
