Get to Know the Bike Park

The easiest way into lift-assisted mountain biking. No prior experience needed – from Vekkuli to flow trail in a single session.

The Get to Know the Bike Park course is the easiest way to try lift-assisted biking at Ylläs bike park. The course for ages 14+ requires no prior mountain biking experience.

We start with the easy-to-use Vekkuli to get familiar with the bike and very easy trails. Once you've mastered the basics of bike control, we'll introduce you to the chairlift and experience Ylläs' famous flow trail. The goal is to give you the skills for independent lift-assisted biking on Ylläs' easy flow trails safely.

The most common reasons for closing the Gondola are strong wind, storms, or thunderstorms. The Gondola is never closed for cost-saving reasons. The crew operating the Gondola are on duty all day, even if the lift does not run for a single minute.

Courses last two to three hours depending on the course. For example, the Get to know the bike park course lasts two hours, and the technique course three hours.
